CONSTITUTION AND BY-LAWS

ARTICLE I. NAME

The name of this church shall be: MOUNT OLIVE MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH
OF LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, INCORPORATED.

ARTICLE II. PURPOSE

The purpose of this church shall be to advance the Kingdom of our Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ. It shall seek to attain this end through the public worship of God,
through the preaching of the Gospel, personal evangelism, missionary endeavors and
Christian education, moreover, to win souls unto Christ.

ARTICLE III. INCORPORATION FEATURES

This church is incorporated in accordance with the laws of the State of California as a
non-profit, religious corporation.

ARTICLE IV. GOVERNMENTAL AUTHORITY

This church is subject to the control of no other Ecclesiastical body. The members of
the congregation constitute the source of the government that operates it. As a
corporation, the members of the church constitute the corporation.

ARTICLE V. MEMBERSHIP

The membership of this church shall consist of baptized believers in our Lord and
Savior, Jesus Christ, who have confessed their faith in His name and who have
indicated their desire to join this congregation to take part toward the objective of this
church.

SECTION 1. A person may become a member of this church in any one of the
following ways:

		Upon his/her confession of faith in Jesus Christ as his/her Savior and Lord, and
		after confession, baptism by immersion.

		By the presentation of a letter from some other Baptist church of like faith and
		order.

		Upon a statement of Christian experience, if previously a member in good and
		regular standing of a Baptist church of like faith and order.

Upon a statement of desire for restoration.

		Attend 6 weeks with the New Convert Class.

SECTION 2. It shall be the duty of every member of this church to abide by the
provisions of the Baptist Covenant as expressed in the PREAMBLE to these BY-LAWS:
To be loyal in supporting the activities and programs of this church, to obey the rule
and regulations of this church by:

Supporting the church with tithes and offerings.

Genesis 14:18-20; Malachi 3:10; I Corinthians 16:1-2

Being regular in attendance to its worship.

Hebrew 10:25; I John 1:7

SECTION 3. Discipline of members:

		It shall be the duty of the Pastor and the Deacon Board to serve as the
		disciplinary agency of this church.

		The Holy Bible shall be the supreme standard by which all human conduct,
		creeds, and opinions shall be tried.

Galatians 6:1-5; I Corinthians 6:1-8; Matthews 18:15-18

		The membership of members who fail to attend church for more than three
		consecutive months will terminate and the person must make an effort to rejoin this church if so desired; unless attendance is prohibited by illness or work.

SECTION 4. Dismissal of Members:

		Letters of dismissal for the purpose of uniting with some other Baptist church of
		like faith and order shall be granted to members of good and regular standing upon recommendation of the Pastor and Deacon Board.

		Any member in good and regular standing desiring to unite with a church of
		some other denomination, may, upon recommendation of the Pastor and the Deacon Board, be granted a letter of Christian standing and shall thereafter cease to be a member of this church.
